If there was anything on television that appeared to be making money, it was the hit TV show, “Basketball Wives.” But according to the Christian Post, which is citing various blogs, “Basketball Wives LA” is not going to be on the air next season after being canceled for low ratings.
“There will NOT be a Season 3,” the Christian Post is saying, getting their information from the highly-suspicious, unreliable site, MediaTakeOut.com. Given that they are getting this information from Media Takeout, a site where its readers have a literacy rate of about 50%, most of us know that anything is possible.
The post mentions some of the fan reaction to the loss of the show. So, even if the show really isn’t being taken off the air, it appears that a lot of people are sick of it anyway.
“I’m so glad that trashy show is done! It does nothing for our youth and only promotes violence #bbwla,” Shanice tweeted.
“No more Basketball wives! I’m sick, I loved watching Draya and Laura! Jackie was so entertaining too. Nooo,” Trisha tweeted.
“It was only a matter of time. Seriously the show is such a bad reflection of minority women. On the other hand I loved watching it lol,” Chris tweeted.
The show, “Basketball Wives LA” came back for a second season last year, but saw its ratings drop a great deal by the fifth episode. The show attracted 1.8 million viewers in its premiere in September, but dropped to 1.2 million by episode five, according to Bossip.com.
One show that seems to be doing well is “Basketball Wives Miami,” which draws a strong audience of four million. This show likely gets all of its fan base from the antics of Evelyn Lozada, who spends her free time teaching young girls to bully one another into depression. Maybe this show should be taken off the air also.
