Min. Farrakhan to Obama: Come Speak to Parents of Dead Children in Chicago

Minister Louis Farrakhan, in a compelling address to President Barack Obama, made a plea to the president to consider coming to Chicago to see about the families of those who’ve been victimized by the astonishing epidemic of gun violence in the city over the past several years. Farrakhan, who lives in the same south side neighborhood as Obama, asked the president to do the same for the victims of Chicago that he did for the families in Newtown, Connecticut who were struck by the horribly unfortunate Sandy Hook School shooting.
The video, which is below, is a respectful one. Farrakhan is not yelling at President Obama or attacking him. In this plea, Farrakhan is simply doing what we should all be doing: Making it clear that our dead children are just as valuable as the children who die in the suburbs. It’s hard to look past a president who flies to Colorado when people are shot in a suburban movie theater, cries publicly when other children are killed in an affluent part of Connecticut, yet simultaneously considers the death of black children in his own neighborhood to be nothing more than business as usual.
Although Farrakhan’s remarks are gracious and his request beyond reasonable, he is sure to be met with opposition from those who feel that every black leader in America should be publicly dismantled for having the audacity to question the new American aristocracy. Some of “us” foolishly believe that we no longer need black leadership since we can now spend our days marveling over Michelle Obama’s sense of fashion. The saddest part of it all is that when President Obama leaves office in 2016, he won’t be doing much work with the black community. However, we will still be sitting in the same socioeconomic mess that has only gotten worse over the last four years.
Some like to say that it’s not the president’s job to fix the problem when black people are being shot by black men. The most interesting thing about this argument is that it also says that the president has no obligation to help fix the problem when white people are being shot by white men. It is only in the black community that we’ve become convinced that the justification for ignoring victims of violence leans on the fact that they have the misfortune of being the same race as the perpetrators. This argument would never fly in white America, and every unconditional apologist in the Barack Obama fan club knows it. In many ways, by reminding the president that white people are more important than us, we are both excusing and encouraging his disrespect for black people in general.
What I’m learning is that the Great Obama Divide occurring in the black community is quite simple: There are those of us who care deeply about poor black people and those of us who don’t. Far too many black Americans have begun to confuse the symbolic fortunes of the Obama family with the success of the black community. Michelle and Barack have become our king and queen, and in such a society, the well-being of the royal family is well-worth the oppression, marginalization, incarceration and economic demise of a million “meaningless” peasants.
The bottom line on President Obama is this: Anyone who responds to critiques of Obama with anger are a danger to the progress of the black community. The success of any one politician should never be more important than the condition of millions of people. Also, anyone who voted for Obama and challenges him to do his job could never been defined as an enemy to the Obama presidency. If they were true enemies of Obama, they would have voted for someone else.

The President spoke out forcefully when a black child Trayvon Martin was gunned down in Florida. There was a Black child among the children killed in Newtown. To say that the President does not care about the dying children in Chicago is simply not true. The minister does not make that untrue accusation and I commend him for that and his respectful sincere appeal. The sweeping measures of gun regulation measures proposed by the President are aimed at preventing gun deaths in Newtown, Chicago, Baltimore and nationwide. The President is addressing the needs of the nation that includes all of us. Since Newtown there has been a thousand gun deaths. Baltimore has seen 200 gun deaths in 2012. Detroit about 300. For the President to visit the family of all those 3 thousand families will be a nice gesture I am sure. I for one would prefer that the President first tackle the unregulated availability of the guns that are causing the deaths in Chicago, and Baltimore, and Newtown. And we should be helping the President by advocating for gun regulation and talking to our communities to remove guns from our streets. That will do ore toward solving the problem than the President taking trips to see thousands of gun violence victims.
The president spoke out about the death of Trayvon Martin after weeks of silence. He was asked repeatedly up until the point in which he actually spoke to say something, anything. He declined. It is only when the noise from the community became so loud and white people were involved did he deem the death of that child worthy of a mention.
45 children died in Chicago in 2012. Please show me the video, statement from the president with him mentioning one child by name. Please post a link to a picture of him visiting with one of their families. I’ll even take a picture, video or statement with him visiting one of the families of the children that have murdered right there in D.C.
After Newtown, he signed TWENTY-ONE executive orders about gun control. After the deaths of the many black children killed in inner cities across this country, he signed none.
It is called having popular support. Obama isn’t a genie. He still has to deal with Congress and the Supreme Court. If he enacted executive orders when the popular sentiment (read: majority of Americans) was against it, then they would be vetoed by congress in a heartbeat and he would achieve nothing. But when an event galvanizes the country, whether you like it or not, that is when you seize the momentum and push for laws and enforce executive orders. Why? Because if congress goes against you, they risk alienating their constituents, and can get voted out next elections. Obama is not a god. He still has to work within the system and play the chess game. He also can’t be the Black People’s president, because he would alienate the majority, and would achieve nothing. He has to be the people’s president and, within that framework, help all communities, including the Black community. You all want him to shout and posture. I want him to have results, even if they are not as big as I could hope. You have to play within the hand you are dealt with. Farrakhan, Jackson, Sharpton, etc can posture all they want. That is because they know they don’t have a chance in h**l of being elected and holding any real power. Obama has real power, but it still has limits set by both the constitution and popular sentiment. SO he has to play within that framework.
Will someone please tell me why are you excusing President Obama not going to his hometown Chicago to speak with the black mothers who lost their sons in the same fashion he did for the white mothers in Colorado and Conn.? Am I missing something….
Could be that those mothers in Chicago don’t resemble his mother, much like those in Sandy HOok and Colorado?
During this presidency, we lost more homes than any other group. Our unemployment rates have skyrocketed to 14 percent. In some areas, black men are facing unemployment numbers as high as 50 percent. If any of this was happening to white America, Obama would be in the Oval Office 24 hours trying to find a solution.
What did you get for your vote? What? Gays will have gay marriage. Latinos will get immigration reform (which is a nail in our community’s coffin). Jews get continued money pumped into Israel. White people get the funds to save their homes, pay for the educations, and jobs. What are we getting?
Over 90 percent of you ran to the polls in November and stood in line for the president. 90 freaking percent. In four years, he didn’t know you. The one black press corps reporter that would ask him questions about black America was repeatedly shot down. He didn’t become your president again until people such as Dr. Watkins, Roland Martin, and Melissa Harris Perry started saying black people were getting restless. Then he walked out some tired education initiative (the only one in his entire presidency aimed at the black community) and you all cheered. I dare you to look up all of the initiatives targeting the black community that were signed by Bush and Clinton.
You are asking for results. Show me those actions that resulted in an improvement in our community. I don’t want him to “shout and posture.” I want him to stand up to his word. How many barber shops and beauty salons, black churches did he stand in and say what he was going to do? Even if the only thing he did was to sign an executive order concerning the discrimination that convicted felons face (many of them our brothers and sisters who received unfair sentencing under this bogus drug war), that would be major.
Stop being dazzled by his color. He does not identify with you. He does not identify with us. You speak on his limitations under the constitution, right? It didn’t stop him from signing those TWENTY-ONE initiatives for white America this past week.

He is the more effective evil that Glen Ford, his colleagues, and others talk about. And Corey Booker is fast trying to get corporate approval to rise to the “puppet” level.
These candidates raise millions upon millions of dollars for their campaigns, or as I like to call it, “Dancing with the Corporations” contest. So why is the social safety net under attack? You pay what you owe. A favor for a favor. Barak W. Bush has a lot of payments to deliver to his puppet masters.

He and his administration recently announced that they are planning to create legal status for millions of foreigners who are in the country illegally, and is working with a group in the Senate to get it done.
Latino voters were strong backers of the president during the last election, and many of their leaders have demanded that the president address immigration reform in exchange for their endorsement.
The president received 70% of the Latino vote in the last election. This support, however, falls short of that of the Africa American community, which gave the president more than 95% approval. Hispanics constitute 16.7% of the nation’s population, while African Americans are 13%. So, since the president received more black votes than Hispanic, some black leaders wonder why the president has not made the black unemployment crisis or mass incarceration an equally high priority during his second term.

We really need to stop thinking of ourselves as unworthy.
While I think it hasn’t been done intentionally, I do agree that Chicago has seen more than it’s fair share of innocent lives being lost to gun violence, beginning way earlier than the incidents in Newtown,CT. It seemed that every time I turned on the television, there was news of another homicide being reported in the Windy City. I too think it’s time that folks get some sort of public acknowledgement that, yes, their cries of pain have been heard and the sweeping gun laws are for them too.

As he usually does Brother Minister presents a fair position for consideration. I fear that too many will have difficulty understanding what he is saying because of a prejudiced filter that will get in the way of their understanding his words.

It all stems back to taking the Most High God out from everything. ok i know this post will not be popular but here goes… when obama spoke to black america, he admonished black fathers and told them to step up to the plate. he was heavily criticised and was accused of badmouthing black people. what he actually did was address what he thought was the biggest problem in the black community. so im asking, do we really want him to talk to the black community or do we want him to say what we want him to say? also another question if he does talk to the victims of gun violence, should he only talk to victims who were innocent and were just in the wrong place at the wrong time? because honestly what can he say to a mother whose son was involved in a violent lifestyle and met a violent end. he can say im so sorry for your loss and he should be, we all should be, but what problem will that sentiment solve? but anything else he says will come out as a criticism. so are we looking for him to really speak to us or just pay us a littlt attention? me personally, i have no room nor no need for simple lip service

The whole idea is preposterous. The whole reason for making a big deal out of mass spree killings is because they are done by single individuals or small groups with mass numbers. Deaths because of crime rates and gang warfare, are national and cannot be addressed with visits to each city. Why should Chicago be above other cities who have larger death counts for 2012? Iam so proud, why you might ask. To see my people awakened to knowledge and its pursuit……i myself didn’t know much about politics or the following of it until Barack Obama and because of the adversity (the Force) that he has had to face it awakened me to get more involved through reading (which is knowledge) therby increasing my wisdom (and wisdom is power)…….trust I had no idea what the h**l Gerrymadering was that these shrewd caucasions put into place, i followed the vot4er suppression and everyday I’m getting wiser and wiser through reading (something that my people don’t quickly do). The aforementioned comments have a lot of credence and there pro and con approaches………I did find myself saying when my President spoke at the Newton Prayer vigil, (mention Chicago, mention Chicago, mention Chicago)but he never did. I agree with those who say he is not the cure all for the problem, but just acknowledging it as he does everything else would have been appropriate. As I close examples, well black men could emulate our President in respect to the way he leads his family, his values and commitment to their success. I’m 68 and I remember a different time in our community a time if nothing else you feared those in a authority position, be it the father who usually led or that rare female that could put aside her motherly instincts and get in your stuff like hte man of the house would (if there was a man there) in most cases he was there. Also, I’ve been awaiting his second term. Let’s give him a chance please. I doubt he would have been re-elected if during his first term he had focused too much on ‘Black’ policies in racist America.
My final point…. we, as a community, must do like the Gays, and Hispanics, and make our concerns heard LOUD and clear. Typing on this site allows us to vent, but we need to organize and march (if necessary) to get our needs met. A ray of hope for us is a group of approximately 20 Black leaders (which includes Rev. Al, & NAACP president) have written a list of concerns they want this administration to address for BLACK Americans that they will be presenting to the president soon.

As a Black American I feel that the laws that were implemented, due to Black struggle (The Civil Rights Movement) have not solved the problems of Black inequality in America. Black people… ask yourself …why does White America have the ability to affect the lives of Black Americans despite the laws that protect every citizen? It is because of “White Privilege.” Fellow White citizens have been able to practice discrimination without any enforcement of the law… deny Black Americans loans, deny educated Black Americans good jobs… deny Black Americans good schools for their children, deny Black Americans safety in their neighborhoods from crime, armed citizens, and law enforcement. On the flip side the people who are denying Black citizens these basic necessities are the White Citizens who have the ability to make these decisions. The White loan officer, The White police officer, The White realtor, The White educator, the White supervisor etc…
A Black President has the ability to demand equality for all citizens, because this is the law of the land. If even the first Black President does not address the situation of Black America, which is directly a result of a history of racism that continues in our country… then Whites Americans will be emboldened to continue discrimination… which is illegal, and even go further outside of the law. This has happened since Obama has been the President and not stood up for the rule of law in this country. Blacks have been terminated in record numbers and not even a nod from the Black President. President Obama and his supporters… What do Black Americans want? Equality and a fair chance to pursue the American dream.

Thank you minister, I feel the exact same way. It hurts me to my core all the VIOLENCE that has become everyday life in CHICAGO. To add insult to injury our PRESIDENT has never at the very least come home or address the violence in his backyard. Why hasn’t he come up with a plan to get guns off our streets. For the record I’ve heard Obama speak on the violence in Chicago. If Obama did what really needs to be done to clean up the streets of Chicago, people would be up in arms over it.

Perhaps Mr. Farrakhan should organize a Million Man March on Chicago. Maybe that would yield some positive results. It seems ironic that two of the most vocal black men in America (Jesse Jackson & Minister Louis Farrakhan) both live in what is considered the murder capital of young black men in the United States, both having the answers to the problems in other countries but are impotent in solving the problems in their own home town.

If you notice, Minister Farrakhan does not talk about the joos, screachas, and the government like he did back in the day! He also has gotten ‘soft’, and just gives us lip service. He was on the battlefield for a minute, but that was just a ‘cameo’ appearance. We can’t solve problems in one or two days…he needs to spend some time with those youngsters PERSONALLY! Take them to the Mosque and teach them. Messy Jessy should take them to the church and teach them. IT’S TIME FOR UNITY!!!

Coupled with supporting the military being aided with tax dollars, to go over to other countries, blow up schools, people and buildings, how can we even utter gun control, when we are the culprits of violence. I hate to sound racist, but, just because little white kids are murdered by a white gang banger, shouldn’t call for gun control. U have little black, latin, middle eastern, asian and others races getting killed daily by gun fire *(for years)* and nothing was ever done. Pot calling the kettle black here. I believe there groups/organizations who are involved im the black community…but there aren’t enough compared to the amount of black youth in trouble. One would think black people should be able to do the same thing gays and latinos did to get their agendas addressed by obama. The question is why has this not been done and before the last election? Blacks are always being sold out behind the scenes is one of the reasons our issues fall on deaf ears. So many other factors that are being overlooked such as cops allowing these gangs to operate on the streets if they do what their told. I’m willing to bet that not a single individuals here has demanded that Barack Obama take responsibility to raise their children.
Many individuals here are asking and demanding that Barack Obama step up to the plate for U.S. born blacks, U.S. born black voters being a large block of voter who have enabled Barack Obama to become President in 2008 and today.

Again the most important function of any elected official is upholding “the oath of office”, and the Constitution to serve U.S. citizens and legal immigrants. As it stands, Barack Obama places more importance in using the “oath of office”, his “executive influence” as President, and circumventing Congress to promote the “Dream Act/Amnesty of 11 Million plus illegal aliens”, etc., etc., before stepping up to the plate to serve any U.S. born descendant of slavery.
..and be it an assault weapon or a handgun, neither can harm anyone unless someone arms the weapon and pulls the trigger.
President Barack Obama and company can outlaw guns today, and there would still be senseless killings in the “inner-city” of U.S. born black men and women with other weapons, droves of black men and women going to prison, whether they committed the crime or not, droves of black men and women abusing their bodies with illicit drugs, black families being broken up and destroyed for profit by unethical individuals, over dependency on Food Stamps/Social Welfare, etc., etc., etc.

Other more issues that need solving would give black men and women a chance to be a part of the “American Dream, by making it possible for black men and women to be gainfully employed (it takes money or its equivalent to provide food, clothing and shelter), having competent representation in courts so that he or she can keep what he or she has earned, making elected officials function as mandated by the “oath of office” or removing any misfit from office who refuses to respect the “oath of office”, improving the quality of life in the inner-city to reduce criminal activity will reduce a lot of the self destructive behavior, keep illegal aliens from around the world from taking over the black community, strengthen the “Black family”, help to keep black men and women out of prison, and curtail genocide/extinction of the black community in general.
Wake up people do not criticize our President he catches enough of that BS from White America and he truly is doing the best he can. Nobody should even fix their mouth to open it to say President Obama does not care about any American! The man is doing the best he can and trying to cover all he can but let’s face it is word is not the only word that counts! That’s why we all live in the United States of America! I remember a time when Mom and Dad could raise their children in a way that involved punishment and children would listen. President Kennedy was elected by the people, he did however have Irish lineage and many Irish groups in Boston and New York lobbyed him during his presidency….from what I understand he didn’t turn them away.
Its also important to note that the co-founder of Sinn Fein in Ireland, Eamon De Valera, met frequently with Pres. Kennedy many times and he had a somewhat checkered history.
My point is that whites in power never question the shortcomings of their peers and if they do they their best to ‘bring them in from the cold’ in order to carve a more meaningful professional relationship which benefits them all.
Pres. Obama is aware of this process but unfortunately he doesn’t feel as though he owes anything to us particularly as we have not effectively held him to account by us unifying and pressing him on our concerns.
I will say on the other hand that around the beginning of his first term he was approached by Black leaders and particularly pressed on the question of repairations but he turned them down.
Initially, as it was whites who funded his campaign he would feel more obligated to please them and him and his wife being a part of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) I’m not surprised that he acts in this way.
One of you in this forum said it right, he is the president of the united states and he has to look out for ALL americans however if history proves anything where the presidency is concerned they (presidents)often break with convention, why?? because they can and they always will!!
And not that we would ask Pres. Obama to do so on our behalf but we as a people have legitimate concerns and issues and they must be addressed, and Obama should at the very least remember who truly placed him where he is….this is his obligation!!
In conclusion its not enough that he uses MLK’s bible to be sworn into office, its not enough that he some congressional leaders and the vice president stand in front of a bust of MLK to ponder on his legacy as these are token gestures and such actions only engender a culture of symbolic recognition among government/elected officials and the black electorate.

Until families and communities learn to love and look out for each other, the violence in major cities will grow worse. The breakdown in the family unit is the reason for crime. Love and compasion for your fellow man begins at home. Lack of education, job training and essential work-related skills almost always means that you will live in poverty and brokenness. There is no legislation for that. The poor grammar, diction and writing skills seen here in these columns is indicative of a much larger problem. Black people have not prepared themselves for a changing and competitive workforce. The problem is just beginning. The violence is going to get worse. There are too many uneducated folk with no sustainable work skills who feel like it’s the government’s job to make sure are able to earn a living. What happened to good-old “bust your b**t” studying so that you can prepare for the future? We live in a world where education is free for the taking for those who dedicate themselves and perservere at all cost. We want an easy life of poor study habits, lackluster efforts and short-sightedness. But, by God, the world owes it to us rescue us from our own demons and make life all sweeter.
By the way, if all of you who stood in line for a 40-oz. and mega-million ticket would use the same fervor to guard your neigborhoods, you could fix your own d**n communities.

What I said is that people who have not prepared themselves for these changing times in the work-world will lead a life of stress and distress related to their impending poverty.The troublesome job market did not come about suddenly- it’s been a long time coming. Factories/industries having been rapidly closing since the 80′s. Manual labor has nearly been replaced by machines and computers. Most of the world took note. Some folk failed to prepare. As other individuals have stated, which is also true, because no one here is asking President Barack Obama for handouts, or asking Barack Obama to take care of their families or their children.
Many individuals are in fact demanding that Barack Obama respect the “oath of office”, the Constitution, and since a large segment of the black electorate has enabled Barack Obama to be President, it is not too much to demand that Barack Obama step up to plate to serve the black community as well.
President Barack Obama just like any other elected official is under oath. Individuals who pay Federal taxes, property taxes, income taxes, etc., etc., are not going sit quietly by the sidelines like you, when his or her taxes dollars finance and pay the salaries of no good elected officials, no matter what ethnic group, religious belief, gender, and/or heritage of the elected official.
Furthermore many U.S. born black men and women, and other individuals, have served this nation honorably in every war, from the American Revolutionary War, to the conflict in Afghanistan, have returned in body bags, are maimed for life, and/or those who have returned have made this great sacrifice and will not sit quietly by the sidelines while elected officials like no good Barack Obama trash the “oath of office”, the Constitution, circumvent the Constitution to provide amnesty for illegal immigrants, ignore valid written or spoken petitions for redress, and the essence of what it means to be an elected official.

I’m one of numerous U.S. born black descendants of slavery who with good reason has contempt for Barack Obama and other psuedo leaders like him.
There have been valid points made on both sides of the argument. I personally would like to see President Obama take a more active role in the black community. Am I disappointed he hasn’t visited black families who have been affected by gun violence? Yes, I am. Do I feel he is disconnected from the black community? Nope.As a human services professional, I see so much more of what he has done than what he has not done. From the housing and job training programs to the changes in the decriminalization laws, President Obama has made a difference.We as a black community have to take the responsibility to do more and make the change we’d like to see. Especially black men.President Obama making a scheduled visit will only serve as a photo op and a minor news story. What happens when he departs? Until we have a change in our thinking and attitudes, we are destined for implosion. President Obama as a black man, by merely taking the job of President puts his life on the line everyday. How many of us put our lives on the line to make a difference?
The fact of the matter is this… The accusation that Farrakhan stated is true. He went to speak to white america and not black america. Yet he speaks about black america and poverty, gun violence in america as a whole both white and black all the time. His speech has been directed to every mother and father, child, activist, leader, politician and all… We all have a equal opportunity in this country and if we all come together and work together for pulling this country up, then we could heal this nation.
If only he did more listening and analyzing then criticizing. Im not saying that innocent blacks deserve to die everyday but its almost like black america are zombies and dead to the fact that violence is alive and it seems that they have accepted it.
When it happens in a white environment or more upscale community, so to say, their people don’t know how to handle it. There was been many rallies and organizations in the inner cities to stop the violence.
Maybe a voice is needed that they can trust and someone to instill the laws of our Father in heaven. We are all children of God and some have erred from that truth to follow after vanities and are filled with their own indignations of what a nation should he and represent.
If you choose to judge a man that is not Christ to act as if he were and handle judgements as Christ would then he must be Christ-like. Both muslim and christian believe there was a Jesus, both they deny that he was the Son of God and that he went to h**l and defeated satan and rose again the third day.
If you believe in a higher power over us and it has all the power and you don’t then you have no power. How is that even humanly possible???
Jesus or the messiah came from the Father which is under the Fathers power but acts as the example and came as that perfect creature to show us the way. His love was that of our Fathers love to show us through love we can do all things. That even in death there is life, and it was our Fathers power that raised Jesus from the death yet Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead in that same power. My life is to not envy this power but to answer my own call and step into this same power to do the works of our Father. Now with much doubt and unbelief, Jesus himself didn’t even work the many miracles because they didn’t believe. Don’t cast your pearls before swine, for they will take it and trample over it(your good heart). Meaning the heathens do rage, even since King Davids time but David a King only asked and he did no talking to these people or questioning, he went to war to destroy the other cities in the name of the King and with faith in Christ even before Christ came!
Now with that said, take Moses for example…
He saw these things as well in his own people, Gods own people being led out of bondage and being freed from the world which is full of violence.
God protects his chosen leaders and God himself will send his own people(or angels) to first speak and warn his people, and if they adhere he will forgive but if they don’t he will himself destroy his own people that are corrupting the others. You wonder why there are hurricanes, floods, wild fires, and earthquakes?
God is angry at the wicked all day, especially for his chosen people. He must judge over all the nations with much patience and long suffering. When the stench of sin has reached his nostrils, he will not permit it to be so. He is prepared for that great day of battle. One breathe from heaven will wipe out all of his enemies and all those innumerable souls line up against him.
If you believe in Noah, how can you believe in resurrection through Jesus? To save one man and his lineage in the flood? For what? Because he was chosen and his lineage was marked for Jesus to come forth from Gods first, Adam. God only wants that perfect peace that it was in the beginning, a place of rest for his children,

White people and Hispanics are out there. The Black pastors we are giving our money to should start being like Dr. King instead of Sunday entertainers. NAACP, Urban League, the Black church and all those Black organizations and non profits should start doing something to rally Black folks. Minister Farrakan did the one million march man. What have the rest of us done?

A most important function of all elected officials and the duty of elected officials to respect the Constitution and his or her oath of office when serving U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.
As other individuals have stated, which is also true, because no one here is asking President Barack Obama for handouts, or asking Barack Obama to take care of their families or their children.
Many individuals are in fact demanding that Barack Obama respect the “oath of office”, the Constitution, and since a large segment of the black electorate has enabled Barack Obama to be President, it is not too much to demand that Barack Obama step up to plate to serve the black community as well.
President Barack Obama just like any other elected official is under oath. Individuals who pay Federal taxes, property taxes, income taxes, etc., etc., are not going sit quietly by the sidelines, when his or her taxes dollars finance and pay the salaries of no good elected officials, no matter what ethnic group, religious belief, gender, and/or heritage of the elected official.
Furthermore many U.S. born black men and women, and other individuals, have served this nation honorably in every war, from the American Revolutionary War, to the conflict in Afghanistan, have returned in body bags, are maimed for life, and/or those who have returned have made this great sacrifice and will not sit quietly by the sidelines while elected officials like no good Barack Obama trash the “oath of office”, the Constitution, circumvent the Constitution to provide amnesty for illegal immigrants, ignore valid written or spoken petitions for redress, and the essence of what it means to be an elected official.

Again, a more productive move would be to hold all elected officials accountable to the “oath of office”, the U.S. Constitution, a respective State Constitution.
Unlike the black electorate, typically the voting electorate of most any other ethnic truly hold his or her elected officials accountable and the consequences for not respecting the Constitution or an oath of office, can result in an elected representative being recalled, voted out of office, embarrassed by a citizen who exposes corruption, etc., etc., in jurisdictions where these individuals reside or pay taxes.
