79% of Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Facilities in Minority Communities Deliberately
On Tuesday, Planned Parenthood marked its 96th anniversary and new research has revealed that their abortion clinics are specifically and deliberately located in Black and Hispanic neighborhoods. A full 79% of Planned Parenthood’s clinics are in minority neighborhoods.
According to Protecting Black Life Institute, Planned Parenthood targets areas that are within a walking distance from African American and Hispanic communities and builds their abortion clinics in those areas.
The group showed a new map as a visual, on their website, which allows users to use it to see where their neighborhood is in relation to a Planned Parenthood site.
While it has already been said that Planned Parenthood targets Black and other minority neighborhoods, the new research has used much more accurate and verifiable data from statistics from 2010 Census Data tracts. The new research is also different because it was not broadly looking at larger geographical areas, such as zip codes, but instead focused on Planned Parenthood and the neighborhoods in walking distance from their abortion clinics.
Rev. Arnold Culbreath, Director of Protecting Black Life and a founding member of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition said,
“Minority communities are the #1 targets of Planned Parenthood. It’s no wonder abortion remains the leading cause of death among African Americans, higher than all other causes combined. Getting this information to as many people as possible is not only critical, it’s a matter of life and death for countless babies and oft times even their mothers.”
The Executive Director of Life Issues Institute, Bradley Mattes, also agreed saying,
“This solid evidence is overwhelmingly convincing that Planned Parenthood’s business model is to generate income from an increased number of abortions in minority neighborhoods.”
In a joint statement, both groups said,
“These census results clearly show that Planned Parenthood continues to pursue the eugenics philosophy of its founder, Margaret Sanger, who believed that Blacks and the poor were “unfit” to reproduce. She dedicated her life to controlling the population of these “undesirables” by advancing birth control and sterilization in their neighborhoods. Later, the legalization of abortion gave Planned Parenthood an effective and lucrative means for furthering this eugenics agenda. Although Planned Parenthood denies it, these maps show conclusively that they continue to target minorities for abortion.”

While I don’t doubt the statistics are correct that you have provided, what I find troubling is that you have inaccurately labeled Planned Parenthood facilities as “abortion clinics.” While it is no secret that they offer abortions, it is actually a very small portion of the services they do offer, such as access to emergency contraception and free or affordable birth control, which otherwise would be inaccessible to most (myself included) due to having no insurance or no means to pay for these things. So yes, it is completely feasible they would exist in mostly Black and Latino neighborhoods as we are the majority in low-income areas and therefore are in need of their services the most. And I don’t know what the “Executive Director of Life Issues Institute, Bradley Mattes” has heard, but Planned Parenthood is funded by donations, aka a non-profit. They don’t generate “income”, and if they did, it would make more sense to put them in high-income neighborhoods, no?
I had no idea that they were in minority areas, they are non profit, but they should be in medical areas near hospitals, clinics etc.. so now white girls have to come to minority areas for abortions? Minority women will have to be more careful and/or go to abstinence,and catholic women will just have to continue to procreate until their body decides to stop, or stop ghaving s*x whether they are married or not. Abortion is always last resort, now mammograms and gyn exams for the poor and uninsured is a must!
