Woman Pulls a Gun on a Congressman at Church

Rep. Trey Gowdy, a Republican out of South Carolina, was shocked to find himself faced with a citizen brandishing a gun at him.   Gowdy was waiting outside the First Baptist Church parking lot for his daughter to finish service when a woman came to the car and told the Congressman to stop following her.

Gowdy denied that he was following the woman and claimed that he was just waiting for his daughter.  That’s what led to the woman getting angry and pulling out the gun.  All of this was the way it was told by Gowdy’s spokesperson, Josh Dix.

The Congressman then put the car in reverse and drove away, with the woman chasing him.  He then reported the incident to the police, leading to the woman’s arrest.

Gloria Yvonne Brackett was charged with carrying an illegal firearm, according to the Associated Press.  She is not known to have any link to the congressman before the incident.  Maybe she can use the mental health services at the county jail, since she clearly has some paranoia issues.
