Why Does No One Ever Quote the Dr. King in this Video?
In this video, Dr. Martin Luther King helps African Americans to understand that they need to “sign their own emancipation proclamation.” This is the Dr. King that is almost never quoted, primarily because he shared a message of independence and black empowerment. To this date, Dr. King has become a highly-commercialized corporate puppet who largely avoided racial rhetoric. In fact, even the Dr. King monument in Washington DC is devoid of any reference to his struggle for African Americans.
Have people watered down the message of Dr. King? Are messages similar to the one in this video replaced by ideas, quotes and concepts that only further support the notion of white supremacy? Quite a few people feel that Dr. King was taken away from black people and replaced by someone that many of us do not recognize. Perhaps that is the case.

As a white American who is 52 years old, I remember Dr. King because my parents made me watch him. They told me that this is how you go about dealing with people who mistreat you. My parents’ best friends were black and, since my grand parents died prior to my birth, these friends became my grandparents.
My mother and father used to say that Dr. King was a humble man with a powerful dream. I feel right now that the dream is in dire straights for this entire nation.
I grew up in the sixties without the prejudice of the rest of the world except to witness my black friends being mistreated and could never understand why.
My dad said it best. “The dream will be realized for all Americans” and he pointed to the TV and said “and you can thank that man when it happens.” It was Dr. King.
I find it abhorrent that any human being can disrespect another because of their standing in the world, their worth, or the color of their skin, and yet lay down their head at night and sleep.
Its a shame that Dr. King was shot because its my opinion that he would have been the best, first black President ever and his wife had more class and great character in her little finger than most people do in their entire bodies.
God did not want us to be like this to one another then and Dr. King reminds us still, that God does not want us to mistreat one another now. Bless them both for they are great teachers.
There are a lot of speeches the unuted snakes of a******s DID NOT want Black people to hear because, in their eyes, he was too militant!
They wanted to show the passive, submissive and weak side of King, when in actuality, he was the opposite. My father followed King, while I listened to Malcolm X, and his teachings. We talked about the difference between the two of them, BUT he said, one day King is gonna wake up and see that, being humble is not going to bring people together.
Malcolm X didn’t like King because, King did some things, that Malcolm X did not agree with, BUT in the end, they were getting ready to UNITE and that’s why they (willie lynch/government) KILLED BOTH OF THEM! Just think what it would’ve been like, if they could’ve gotten together…MOST NEGROIDS WOULD NOT BE IN THIS SUBMISSIVE, WEAK STATE OF MIND LOVIN’ THEIR ENEMIES!!!
King, finally realized that INTEGRATION DID NOT WORK, and this racist government had him killed! Most caucasoids don’t want Blacks to DO FOR SELF. They want them to continue to DEPEND on them, so they can continue to TAKE OUR MONEY and be in control!!! Just look what integration did to OUR neighborhoods…there are MORE FOREIGNERS in our cities; than Black folks. They OWN all the businesses, while negroids continue to SUPPORT them; while our own people continue to suffer and be without jobs.
Before integration Black people, had the same businesses, as their caucasoid counterparts, but those klanners BURNED them down [Black Wall Street] and [Rosewood in Florida], and that’s what left us dependent on caucasoids today! Black people MUST go back to helping ourselves, instead of helping somebody else!!!

Dr. Martin Luther King also arguably spoke in favor of socialism. Don’t hear much about that either. History and historical figures are a supermarket of ideas, but you cannot afford everything in the store, so you pick and choose.
@ Derrick, Negroes did not realize that white people who financed & encouraged intergration for black Americans were white people who resided in segragated neighborhoods. So intergration was only good for black people to reside in urban areas where whites who owned stores & property in urban areas, but the whites owned private homes in white only surburban areas for their white families during the 60s and to date. Each European ethnic group: Italian, Greeks, Russians, European Jews, etc. maintain their ethnic unclaves owning and controlling their wealth from the 60s to present day yet one never heard any one telling each group they should integrate and let Italians own banks, grocery stores, dry cleaners in European Jewish or Greek neighborhoods. Dr. King was murdered because he woke up & realized his dream was a nightmare, hence he has a speech that is never referenced which states he believed whites were inherently evil and would continue hosing down & killing black people. That change in thought coupled with his disdain for Vietnam war was enough for whites in control of this country to murder him. Malcom murdered becaused he realized calling white people blue eyed devils not necessary because Satan & his host of angels do not need anyone to tell them who they are. So Maclom realized the best way to deal with white Americans who perpetrated crimes against humanity, the killing of black Americans was to go before the United Nations and demand all Nations deal with this henious crimes of USA the same way nations came together to address the psychopath Hitler & his willing participants. So Derrick I agree, after Martin & Malcom were enlightened, they recognized & began to form an alliance which meant intellectual Christians who followed Martin & intellectual Black American Muslims & Black American Nationalist would join forces and the singing, marching, & dancing would discontinue in order to create a true Black American ethnic/culture unclave similar to the way blacks lived during reconstruction as Ida B. Wells stated when she addressed why black men were being lynched so that whites could decrease wealth & competition from those colored only areas. So Malcom & Martin killed, black people got intergration: black Americans in areas do not own & control who educates their children, food supply, don’t manufacture a d**n thing, don’t own any financial institutions, don’t control their own sanitation department, or any goods and service because black Americans have been brain washed since after reconstruction that the white man’s ice is colder.

In the 1960′ the right to vote was a hot button issue, and the MAIN ISSUE, And now less than 60 years later it is again. You may ask yourself, did voter suppression ever go away? I don’t know, but what I do know is this, the white man is challenging the young African Americans and the elderly, and the disabled.
