Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglass Lands New TV Role on ‘Vampire Diaries’

Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglass has had a great roller coaster ride to fame and fortune after her epic gymnastics performance at this year’s London Olympics. She’s received a mult-million dollar endorsement deal from Kellog’s Cereals and has become an overnight celebrity in American society.

She is a self-proclaimed fan of the Vampire Diaries television show. Her biggest dream is about to come true as Douglass has been confirmed to appear in episode seven in season four of the hit CW televisions series. Nina Dobrev is a star on the show and  hinted on Twitter Tuesday that she recently met Gabby in Atlanta. In her tweet she wrote:

“@gabrielledoug is coming to The Vampire Diaries set tomorrow! Cant wait to meet and work with you girl! Dont forget to bring your bling! :P .”

Dobrev followed up in a tweet she wrote Wednesday morning stating:

“First thought at 530am when I woke up this mornht at 530am when I woke up this morning : “What to wear when meeting an Olympian Gold Medallist?”

Details surrounding the appearance are sketchy at this time, but it should be an exciting experience for Douglass, who is such an admirable young star. She has been in the media a lot lately. Gabby and her “Fierce Five” teamates just appeared on the CBS reality TV series “Big Brother.” She is also in the process of writing a book and was recently interviewed by media queen Oprah Winfrey. The Vampire Diaries returns to CW on October 11th.

  1. God bless this young lady and her family for their sacrifice.

She is the epitmy of class as such a young age and a wonderful role model for even adults.

And her mom….. God bless her for letting go and trusting that she was doing the right thing by letting her follow her dream and working hard to ensure that it happened….. yes, it happened and we all got to witness and be proud of an American Treasure.

    WAY TO GOOOOOO GABBY!!!!!

  2. I find it very interesting that every time a new black star emerges, it is because of WHITE people in power, and NEVER black people in power. The blacks in power are only interesting in promoting their dumb no talent kids and relatives, while our best and brightest languish in the ghetto never to shine.

Congrats to Gabby. Thank God for good white people who recognize and promote black excellence.

  3. Parents must be VERY mindful when their talented children are scooped up and used to promote “cult-like” subject matter like this. Money isn’t everything. This young lady needs a strong manager who can guide her through the wolf packs and hounds who are programmed to exploit her. So, Oprah and Spike…what’s up! Enuf said!

  4. POSITIVE THOUGHTS! #1 I could see a TV or movie role for Gabby…writing her “coming of age” story and how she grew successfully through her own personal struggles as a young black athelete. #2 Oprah’s “teen years” story is another option. Having Gabby caught up and modeling vampire behaviors is a negative image she can certainly do without.
