Democrats Remove ‘God’ from Committee Platform
The Democratic National Committee platform has been changed and it seems that the change was made specifically to avoid saying ‘God”.
In 2008 the paragraph that had ‘God” in it read:
“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”
Now the new paragraph reads:
“We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”
Critics of this move are saying that it is not surprising because when a platform includes liberal stances such as supporting abortion rights and gay marriage, then it seems to follow that the platform would remove ‘God”.
On Tuesday, delegates will have the opportunity to vote on the platform.
The platform does still have a section that references ‘faith’ and it reads,
“Faith has always been a central part of the American story, and it has been a driving force of progress and justice throughout our history. We know that our nation, our communities, and our lives are made vastly stronger and richer by faith and the countless acts of justice and mercy it inspires. Faith- based organizations will always be critical allies in meeting the challenges that face our nation and our world – from domestic and global poverty, to climate change and human trafficking. People of faith and religious organizations do amazing work in communities across this country and the world, and we believe in lifting up and valuing that good work, and finding ways to support it where possible. We believe in constitutionally sound, evidence-based partnerships with faith-based and other non-profit organizations to serve those in need and advance our shared interests. There is no conflict between supporting faith-based institutions and respecting our Constitution, and a full commitment to both principles is essential for the continued flourishing of both faith and country.”

Vote to keep GOD IN.
They voted on Tuesday to put God back in.
God is already in. No need to overstate the OBVIOUS. However, this is not only as the book of Revelations tells us it will be in the end, but also … notice, they do not mention “Allah” or “Yahweh,” either.
It goes in hand with America’s stance that it will not take sides with religion, or even with atheists or agnostics.
No one’s “religion” is mentioned.
As to this being a godly nation or a nation founded on godly principles … it never happened, anyway.
It’s par for the course. The Lord has already mandated. America is, indeed, the Wh^%$ of Babylon.
It always has been, and this will be revealed to the world in the end.
America is not the w***e of Babylon. But it is currently being heavily influenced. Babylon wants total control over all government through the religion that it prescribes. Babylon worsnhips a different god than the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Babylon through it’s vicker claims authority over the universe. This is a convienent
fantasy. Ultimately it will bring about the destruction of Babylon because of the lie that it forced on the earth and and the blood that will be shed to enforce the lie. To worship anything other than the one true God is blasphemy and idolatry which is sin and the wages of sin is death. Institutionalized sin will not endure long.
First are you a Republican? Second I looked at the past two nights of the Democratic Convention and I distinctly heard each speaker end with “God Bless America” now which part of the platform are you refering to that He has been left out? Also if He is left out of one,s life then it is only natural that He be left out of such a gathering. Can we not trying to find fault and give God some glory for all that He has done in each of our lives and ask blessings upon those whom we have placed in authoritative positions?
Then you give God the glory. I am sick and tired of religion and politics. There is a major reason for the separation of church and state.
Please read your history and see what “YOUR” God did to blacks and other color of people all over the world and then maybe you can really see what type of c**p you are living in the name of jesus.
Food for thought, think anyway you want. The title “GOD” backward is “dog”. Maybe we should just say publicly “The Supreme Being” and use a name from the mother tongue you speak. God is not a name, President is not a name,Manager is not a name,Teacher is not a name. All these words are titles. Now I see why it was so hard for me to get a “C” in English,I wouldn’t believe the meanings of every word given to me by the teacher,because that would contradict what a good English Teacher always ask of you, to look up the meaning of a word. Please correct me if I’m wrong I’m open to learning.
Why pass this on without passing on the WHOLE truth? Yes, in it’s original format God was left off, but it has been stated on many networks that once President Obama saw transcript he insisted on corrections, that both mentioned God and Israel as capitol!
WHY continue to pass on Republican LIE unless you have an objective other than passing on truth!!
Why was God left out in the first place. It would seem that this was not a minor oversite by some writer. I am sure many people had a chance to review this platform but still chose not to make the correction before it became public knowledge. And only once it became done to the public, the Dems got scared that they would lose any religious votes. Then the Presidents staff realizes that this would be a good chance for the President to show he is somehow still a believer of some supreme enity. So tell me…why was God left out in the first place?
The irony is that as the democrats have become more left leaning they insist on being thought of as main stream. I think any fair minded, intelligent, person recognizes that both parties have extreme elements in them & as intelligent voters we have the rigth to select the candidate of our choice & the candidate that we think can unite us as a country but that continues to be increasingly difficult because the left has won over main elements in the public media that treats any change back to mainstream as threatening calamity. That means the need to attract both White & Ethnic voters becomes more difficult as the country is almost evenly split. Like it or not,so far, it seems no candidate of either party has an overwhelming lock on this election. Now Obama even had to ask for Bill Clinton to fake his support in an attempt to stem the flow of partisan folks from exiting the democratic party. This is a more divided country than ever before in our history & some folk thrive on creating even more division & display even more disrespect to their opposition. Unfortunately Obama’s appearance following Clinton’s speech seemed down-right anti-climatic as if everyone knew Clinton was called in for the big rescue. Judging from the enormous reception Clinton received it is fairly obvious that Clinton continues to be the most esteemed & beloved statesman of this democratic party. Some would argue that ‘it’s to bad he can’t run again’. For a moment it almost seemed like the good o’l days of the false, short lived, economy.
Make no mistake, Obama received more White votes than any other democratic candidate in any election since Jimmy Carter & yet it’s almost like he p****d it away! A fairly sad state of affairs for this President & one that is costing his public image dearly.
So, you did a good job of pointing out what is wrong. We would like to hear what we should do to make it right.
I notice that no one takes credit for writing this post. Back in the day we would say,something like this “I ain’t trying to start nothing, BUT, I wouldn’t stand for that, if I was you.” I my opinion,this authorless article can only serve to distract us from what we should be doing, to preserve and grow our Community and Nation. Make sure everybody we can influence and help is registered to vote.

I agree with the commenter who also heard God on the Platform. Somebody is stating some stuff. I too heard God in speeches. I’m going to stop reading this blog too. Thats too bad!!!
This is a bit a sloppy journalism. The Democrats voted Tuesday evening to put GOD back in the platform as well as recognizing Jeruslium as the capital of the Holy Land. Maybe your blogs should just come out and flat out admit that you are Anti Obama so we can stop playing these undercover word games.

The Democrats support many things that God is against. God hates a liar, and is against homosexuality and many other things that they support. So many are headed to h**l because they think they can do what they want and serve God. Somebody needs to be telling Obama followers that they better obey God and pray for Obama and followers. Talk about being a hypocrite.

we are not a f–king christian nation. so now religious persecution is part of the political process. the Nazis did the same sh–t. all the atrocities commited by those devout christians. all the groups singled out to become targets of hatred and extermination. we are certainly on the “right” path.
