Lolo Jones Finishes Fourth at Olympics and Decides To Stop Talking About Her Virginity
Lolo Jones, who recently finished fourth at the Olympics 100-metre women’s hurdle final is rethinking her decision to speak openly about her virginity.
The 30 year old Louisiana resident appeared on the Today show where she shared that she should probably tone it down with the the virginity talk and expressing her religious beliefs.
The Olympic athlete said that she was taken aback by how much media attention her confession about being a virgin drew. She said , ‘This is my path and I was just sharing my life”.
Jones, who also competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has been rumored to be involved with Tim Tebow, probably because they have a similar set of beliefs, being Christians.
Jones shut down the rumors on Twitter saying:
‘I actually heard Tebow has a girlfriend he just isn’t saying it publicly. The search continues…’
Twitter was also her social media of choice when she decided to tell the world and her 55,000 Twitter followers that she was a virgin.
In her Today show interview she spoke about her dating struggles saying,
”I do not have a hard time finding dates but I do have a hard time finding a guy that I want to date that has good morals, that’s willing to wait.”
In an HBO’s Real Sports episode, in May, she joked that keeping her virginity is ‘harder than training for the Olympics’.
She said on HBO’s Real Sports in May that staying a virgin is ‘harder than training for the Olympics’.
Says Jones,
‘When I was 22, 24, it was cute,’ she said. ‘But 24 to 29, it’s not cute. You get judged a lot, a lot of guys won’t return your calls after they find out.’
In an interview with Us Weekly magazine, Lolo, who’s real name is Lori, shared that was saving her “first kiss” for the man she she was going to marry, calling him her fiance. Says Lolo, “I made that commitment when I was about 13 years old.”
