A 12-year old girl is an Internet sensation and inspiration to millions as she has shown her makeup skills on YouTube and gotten the attention of hundreds of thousands of people. Talia Castellano created a YouTube channel called “Make-up is my wig.” The channel has over 100,000 followers and is growing.
Castellano appears in the videos bald and shows viewers how to apply different kinds of eye shadow that she finds when shopping.
The little girl lives in Orlando with her family and was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 7.
“I saw other girls making makeup videos on YouTube and thought it would be fun,” Castellano told TODAY.com. “I put one up and ever since then it gotten more and more popular. It’s cool that people are now seeing that fighting cancer is not just about chemo, and that there are different things that help us through the journey. For me that was makeup.”
Over the last year, Castellano has posted over 150 videos onto YouTube, mostly about makeup and cancer awareness. She recently made her audience aware that her cancer has spread to her bone marrow.
“I know it’s a lot to take in. Right now I am leaning to not doing [the treatment] because I don’t want to go through that,” Castellano says on the video. “The chances of not surviving are fewer than surviving. If we even find a match, if my body rejects it then I am screwed, I went through all that c**p for nothing.”
She even reflects on her journey of having cancer at such a young age.
“The journey of having cancer has been amazing, but every journey has to have an end,” she said.
“I’m only 13, I shouldn’t have to be doing this… It’s really not fair for kids to have cancer and it really frickin sucks.”12
She has an amazing spirit but I pray that she has the transplant because the have saved many lives. Even if she doesnt she has definitely fufilled her purpose in the short amount of time that she is on this earth. Bless you sweetheart!!!
You are an amazing young lady. I do pray that you will go ahead and get a bone marrow. We have to do things we do not want to do sometimes. God will take care of you if you allow him to. If you do not have God in your life please young lady ask him to come in. God is not playing with us and because you have this health challenge in your life, you need him even more.
I know I do not know you, but I do love you. I will continue to pray for you. God Bless you and keep you!
You are an AMAZING Young Lady and I know that Millions are INSPIRED!!!!

Hang in there, young lady_you are an inspiration to us all. We love and are praying for you.
Tialia Castellano_you will survive.
I think that you are an eagle and eagles fly higher than all other fowls. My sister is the oldest survivor of a bone marrow transplant and she is a champion. She had her transplant in 1985 and we have had fun fishing every since. Yes, she has had challenges but she is still an inspiration to others. So think clearly, and know that medicine has advanced sice 1985 and you would be in good hands if you decide to have the surgery. The most important thing to remember is that you must stay clean and follow the doctor’s orders if you should decide to have the transplant. You must also think like a survivor, no negative thoughts at all. May you have a wonderful day and contiue to inspire others with your talents by using every color of the rainbow.Forgive me if a bone marrow transplant is not the surgery you are alluding to.
You can beat cancer & you will! There is a website dedicated to helping people defeat cancer. It is simply called cancerdefeated.com. They sponsor an e-newsletter you can have sent to your email address. They explain the hazards and risks involved in going through chemo & how it actually does more harm than it does good. That how this is something your Dr. would never tell you because chemo is such a multi-million dollar industry and if the general public knew the truth the doctors couldn’t rake in the boatloads of cash. They offer alternative treatments that have proven to be effective in defeating cancer. Please know that you can win this battle and you will. When GOD closes one door HE opens another. There is a door waiting for you to walk through. Take that first step!
Wonderful and uplifting!!!!!! I would definitely recommend going through with the bone marrow process as a life saving tool. Discomfort and anxiety are parts of life that you can deal with but we’re only given one chance at life.
