Armstrong Williams: Essence and Planned Parenthood “empower” Black Women to Abort Black Babies

Planned Parenthood is sponsoring is sponsoring the 2012 ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans and Armstrong Williams has a few thing to say about it.

Armstrong Williams is  known as a proponent of conservative Christian values in America’s public debate. According to townhall.com, Williams is “An entrepreneur and third-generation Republican,  taking stands for what’s right on radio and television, in print and cyberspace. ”

Williams describes Essence as claiming to motivate African American women and to speak to their hearts and what their specific concerns are.  Says Williams:

Every month African-American women rely on Essence for editorial content designed to help them move their lives forward personally, professionally, intellectually and spiritually. Essence must think that African-American women will be moved forward spiritually by Planned Parenthood, because the largest abortion provider in the United States, one that kills 300,000 American babies annually, is sponsoring the 2012 ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans.

Williams goes on to share that the Planned Parenthood executive vice-president Dawn Laguens says that among Planned Parenthood’s goals in sponsoring the ESSENCE Music Festival is an intention to give the attendees information about the differences in the health of African Americans as compared to the general American population.

I’m guessing one of those disparities isn’t the shocking, shocking, shocking abortion rate,” says Williams.

Williams shares statistics from Guttmacher Institute, which he describes as “Planned Parenthood’s very own research and propaganda wing”.  According to Guttmacher, African Americans are only about 13% of the population but make up 20% of all abortion cases in the United States. This is the highest statistic of any racial group. Williams also points out the statistic that shows that in New York City, African-Americans are about 25% of the population but make up 45% of the abortion cases.

Williams goes on to remind everyone that the founder of Planned Parenthood is Margaret Sanger who he describes as “a thoroughgoing racist who openly believed that whites were genetically superior to blacks.”

He goes on to add,

As Herman Cain and others such as Alveda King, niece of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., have pointed out, Planned Parenthood centers are most often located in urban areas, especially in African-American neighborhoods. They know who their top customers are.

Clearly, Williams is not a fan of Planned Parenthood and and now Essence has also fallen out of his favor by associating with the organization.

  1. He is telling the truth. Although I normally don’t agree with his politics he is on the money with this one. If you need more proof google maafa 21.

    • It’s not the truth, it’s twisted masognony! Planned Parenthood is about providing HEALTHCARE to women AND MEN. Abortion services are a small percentage of their services. You’d know that if you actually researched them and not followed conspiracy theories.

And Planned Parenthood is in predominantly urban areas because that is where the disparity in healthcare is dire.

Think for yourself and do some real research.

      • “Sanger believed that lighter-skinned races were superior to darker-skinned races, but would not tolerate bigotry among her staff, nor any refusal to work within interracial projects.[94] Her contemporaries in the African-American community supported her efforts. In 1929, James H. Hubert, a black social worker and leader of New York’s Urban League, asked Sanger to open a clinic in Harlem.[95] Sanger secured funding from the Julius Rosenwald Fund and opened the clinic, staffed with African-American doctors, in 1930. …The clinic was publicized in the African-American press and African-American churches, and received the approval of W. E. B. Du Bois, founder of the NAACP.[96] Sanger’s work with minorities earned praise from Martin Luther King, Jr., in his 1966 acceptance speech for the Margaret Sanger award.[97]

From 1939 to 1942 Sanger was an honorary delegate of the Birth Control Federation of America, which included a supervisory role — alongside Mary Lasker and Clarence Gamble — in the Negro Project, an effort to deliver birth control to poor African Americans.[98] Sanger wanted the Negro Project to include black ministers in leadership roles, but other supervisors did not. To emphasize the benefits of involving black community leaders, she wrote to Gamble “we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” This quote has been mistakenly used by Angela Davis, to support her claims that Sanger wanted to exterminate black people.[99] However, New York University’s Margaret Sanger Papers Project, clarifies that Sanger, in writing that letter, “recognized that elements within the black community might mistakenly associate the Negro Project with racist sterilization campaigns in the Jim Crow South, unless clergy and other community leaders spread the word that the Project had a humanitarian aim.”[100]

This is from wikipedia, which is easy enough to find. I’m sure you can also access the Sanger Papers Project for further proof of Sanger’s TRUE assertion on eugenics.

        • As a teen and pregnant the doctors waited until my grandmother left my side in the hospital to tell me I needed to take this new drug/procedure to make me dialate more but I had to sign a waiver and they would pay me $50. My grandmotehr was so p****d by this. I never dialated had a c-section and wtf was the drug/procedure? I don’t know I was too young not to even ask or care at the time especially since my kid was healthy.

Funny and sad at the same time …I have never been pregnant again in almost 20 years. In modern day time I always think about eugenics.**it always plays in the back of my mind**

      • It’s obvious their propaganda has you completely brain washed.

      • Planned Parenthood was started and funded by a known biggot and racist whos name i will not mention, but this is a FACT….so for the idiot LESLIE who is prolly some PP advocate please shut up….you dont know what your talking about if you did your research. WHy are you even on this site? You dont make any sense and your an idiot sorry your reasons are so generic in substance that it leads me to believe you are a mole or agent for them…

  2. He has a way of twisting the facts. (Armstrong) Look at how many Mothers are killing and harming their children. Anything to take the rights of “choice” from women. It is our body to do whatever we choose. Who cares what martin Luther’s daughter thinks. She is not her father. Ever wonder why he never toauched the issue ? Is thinking is like a white republican. Get real women and be blessed and happy that we have a “CHOICE”.

    • As a man I totally agree that it is the WOMAN’s choice what she does with HER pregnancy. The problem for men is that 99.99% don’t realize that MEN possess the essence of life in our testicles. Without OUR SPERM, motherhood- through means of giving birth will come to a screeching halt. And miss me with the c**p about Artificial Insemination and In Vitro fertilization- how many women you know can afford these expensive procedures. Men have a responsibility to realize the power that we possess in our testicles and we need to control that power 100%. If a women is not wife material and y’all have not planned a future marriage together, under no circumstances are you to impregnate her. But, again being the simple minded creatures most black men and women are today, we will continue doing the same things over and over while expecting a different result.

      • The sad thing is, IS that most black men are entirely clueless on how to pick a mate. Marriage is MOSTLY about accumulation and retaining wealth, raising children, and lifetime commitment.

        I see black men picking:
the biggest booty instead of the greatest mind – a genius who marries a dummy has a 50% chance of reproducing dummies

the lightest skin tone which is evidence of whiteness in the gene pool. fact is that the most intelligent white men rarely mated with black women. it was usually the inferior white, who couldn’t find a white woman to be with him.

the users pick the biggest check, because they’re too lazy to work.

the athletes marry 3rd world tiny women and expect for their offspring to be athletes.

    • I bet you call yourself a Christian too. If abortion had been available 50 years ago, Obama wouldn’t be here, Jesse Jackson wouldn’t be here, Oprah wouldn’t be here….on and on

Between Obama’s planned parenthood, murder of black boys, high unemployment, return of Jim Crow, HIV, and the criminal justice system, we can expect to see the black population decrease more than 50% in the next 10 years.

  3. Is Armstrong truly conservative? After all, I remember him losing his radio show because of unethical behavior, ie. accepting questionaable funding.

Plus, wasn’t he outed as being on the down-low?

    • I TRULY BELIEVE THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME I AGREE WITH MR WILLIAM BUT PLANNED PARENTHOOD IS IMPLANTED IN EVERY LOW INCOME INNERCITY NEIGHBORHOOD TO ELIMATE THE BLACK AND BROWN POPULATIONS. ONE LOVE NATTYBOB/EWF LOCAL#2

  4. Where has he been? Nobody values his opinion anymore, he has lost all credibility, Go sit down somewhere Armstrong….

  5. It IS time for African-American women to stop using abortion as a form of birth control. I wonder if they ever think of their dead children.

    Be moral and responsible.

    • yes they do, and they are FOREVER scarred. that’s why u see them screaming and falling out in church out of guilt and they’re jealous of black mothers who keep their babies.

  6. I am SURE this idiot did NOT attend the Essence Festival just to make ONE blanket statement on ONE service that Planned Parenthood does provide. From my recollection at the festival PP was handing out condems and Safe s*x pamphlets (never solicited abortion services).

Just another somebody trying to be back on the scene and as always ill informed.

People are responsible for their own lives!

    ~ Pro-Choice (and I NEVER had a abortion)

  7. Armstrong is an a*s. ‘nouf said.

  8. Armstrong is an a*s. ‘nough said.

  9. I wish Black women would stop handing over their money to that White man who owns ESSENCE and BET. Start your own magazine; then you will really be empowered. Stop supporting ESSENCE and BET. Support Magic Johnson and what he’s trying to accomplish; or support the on-line Black women’s magazines and blogs and what they are trying to accomplish.

Stop giving your money to the Whites who own EBONY (partly) as well.

    • Being the simple minded creatures most black men and women are today, we will continue doing the same things over and over while expecting a different result.

    • i agree that we shouldn’t support essence. i quit a long time ago, but we certainly should NOT support the hate blogs that are owned mostly by caribbeans and africans that use them to toot up foreign blacks in entertainment, and use them to try hard to hate away our BEST american black entertainers. they all need to be sued and shut down.

      • You’re right about those foreigner hater blogs. I don’t support them.

As entertainers they will want to ‘hide’ as a regular Black American if it’s beneficial to them. Probably came as illegals to begin with.

    • Amen, Barbara. I stopped reading “Essence” and watching “BET” ages ago when I found out they’re white-owned.

  10. I sometimes wonder which is better or worse .. A baby born unwanted or a baby aborted.

    • Even in the most dire circumstances, I have NEVER heard a person say they wish they were never born.

      • We are not talking about the person that was born. They would not know anything if they had been aborted, so what you are saying here is of no consequence. Without a doubt, a baby born to parents that don’t want it, can’t take care of it, too broke to support it – just another child that ends up in foster care being physically, emotionally or sexually abused.

  11. Sanger
Margaret Sanger was a racist of the worst kind, she was a eugenisist. Her original funding for planned parenthood, came from the Rockefeller foundation. She believed that abortion would help stop the “unfit, feeble-minded” from reproducing. please read her literature here a some examples

In the early part of the 20 th century, pioneers in the birth control movement routinely cited poverty, disease, physical disability, mental acuity, and even racial heritage as reasons to support their cause. In her 1922 book, “The Pivot of Civilization,” Margaret Sanger, the founder of the American Birth Control League, an organization that would become Planned Parenthood, opens Chapter 4 with this salvo: “There is but one practical and feasible program in handling the great problem of the feeble-minded. That is, as the best authorities are agreed, to prevent the birth of those who would transmit imbecility to their descendants.”

Review printed an excerpt of an address Sanger gave in 1926. In it she said:

It now remains for the U.S. government to set a sensible example to the world by offering a bonus or yearly pension to all obviously unfit parents who allow themselves to be sterilized by harmless and scientific means. In this way the moron and the diseased would have no posterity to inherit their unhappy condition. The number of the feeble-minded would decrease and a heavy burden would be lifted from the shoulders of the fit”
Sanger used the black leaders (like W.E.B Dubois) to sell the eugenics agenda to the black community, she knew that she would need them to reach black masses.

  12. Armstrong Williams is in the same category as Rush Limbaugh, says a lot of nothing in regards to black people. The sad thing is his case, is the he’s black too. Maybe he wants to be a black Rush Limbaugh. How said.

  13. I know Armstrong personally, having met him through my brother. He gets on my nerves, as do all men that try to have an opinion about what women do with their bodies. If a woman accidentally gets pregnant, an abortion is what she SHOULD get. No female should be forced to bear a child she doesn’t want or cannot afford, and no man should have an opinion about it.

Essence is about women. Women are the ones that get pregnant. Women have the right to not be pregnant if they don’t want to. I am glad that Essence and Planned Parenthood are in alignment to promote the interests of FEMALES, not males.

    • I wonder if the babies who are aborted because they’re females would agree with you that Essence and Planned Parenthood protect the interests of females.

  14. I am not going to buy into the self hatred nor am I going to buy into the use of “comparative statistics” to paint a picture of women or better yet women of color that I find disgusting. A woman’s body is her body and she is the one who makes that “choice.”. Mr. Williams and others like him continuously preach self hatred and I wonder what was their price. What was the dollar amount to sell their souls. They are given a platform that they utilize to assault the institutions that are central to not just Africa-American culture but the very fabric of the great nation. They are just sad!

  15. Please google maafa 21, then research the info given before posting any more comments. Abortion, feminist movement and gay movement. All driven by the white media, only destroys the Black race!

  16. It is most revealing that the anti-Afrikan racist eugenics devil Sanger who founded Planned Parenthood and targeted Afrikans is being defended by mentally enslaved ‘negroes’ and ‘negresses’ who are actively participating in reducing the number of Afrikans not only in the US but in Afrika and elsewhere.Essence is a European owned magazine that no mentally emancipated Afrikan should buy or otherwise support.Sandra you are an enemy who is trying to divide Afrikans in the US from Afrikans in the Caribbean and Afrika. How much are the racist European devils paying you Sandra? Check our Dr. Umar Johnson the Garveyite/Pan Afrikanist on You Tube re the racist Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood.

  17. All these comments about abortion but I didn’t hear not one person offering to support these unborn babies! People always have opinions but they’re like a******s, everyone has one! All these people are so concerned about these women and their babies why don’t they help support these women so they wouldn’t have abortions in the first place.

  18. A discredited self hating pseudo male journalist does not have the credibility to comment on female reproductive rights.

  19. Armstrong Williams loves the tea party
