Rodney King is no longer with us, but his legacy will live on forever. His sacrifice during the brutal beating he took in 1992 changed police departments around the country by highlighting the vicious nature of police brutality. King never healed entirely from the beating, either physically or psychologically. The nation never healed from the racism and anger that creates the tension that created the LA riots.
Currently, the King drama hasn’t ended since his death, since his family doesn’t want his fiancee, Cynthia Kelley, to attend his funeral. The family questions Kelley’s story on the night that King died, and doesn’t seem to believe that she is entirely innocent.
King did numerous interviews right before he died, mainly because media outlets were clamoring to speak with him on the 20th anniversary of the infamous beating. This interview below was the last one King did before he died, and it speaks volumes.
Families need to get real. Women this should be a lesson for some of you, you sleep with these men, their family step in, you are locked outside of his last rite. No marriage, no rights. you slep with him, you gave your body to him, you breathed the same foul air every morning, every night, you cooked his meals, some of you had his child and he dies, leaves you nothing but an angry family that blames you. nothing hear that kept this woman outside of this man’s funeral but hear say. They heard nothing, they seen nothing, but they willingly jumped to what someone else had to say. Had you been obedient to the Lord, you wouldn’t have giving your Salvation, your life until he married you any way. I feel sorry for women like this. Love means “I Do”, I Do In Jesus Christ. The World say Marry then act like a cow giving milk.. It’s cheaper at the store. Families needs to back down. Now I pray this woman will get to know the LOrd and not just go to Church.
