Pastor Accused of Strangling Wife, Dares Police to Shoot Him

Rev. Victor Richardson of New Zion Fellowship Church has been arrested by the Hamilton County Police Department for an incident involving an alleged attack on his wife. The 40-year old pastor is being charged with strangulation, domestic battery and resisting law enforcement, according to police. Richardson has been since released on bond, but a warrant was later released for violation of probation.
Richardson turned himself in on June 18th. According to the probable cause affidavit, police came to the home of a man who was drunk and strangling his wife wife without allowing her to leave. When police arrived, Richardson allegedly locked himself in the master bedroom, refusing to obey police orders. He said that he was going to kill himself, leading police to bust the door down.
Officers had to stop Rev. Richardson with a stun gun and according to police, officers had to fight in order to cuff him. Richardson’s wife, Monica, told police that he strangled her to the point of not being able breathe, and that their daughters had to intervene. He later admitted to grabbing his wife around the shoulders because he wanted her to listen to him.
Rev. Richardson admitted that he “messed up,” according to the affidavit.

I absolutely don’t condone this behavior. But people need to realize that pastors are human too. That means they’re capable of doing what anyone else would do. That’s why our faith needs to be on God, not man. And we need a forgiving spirit like God for times like this.

OR psychotic imbalance in his brain, or which of lucifers demons owns his soul? This is most likely not at all the first time this man of the word has exploded in violence – its the first time, perhaps, that it has gone public! And probably one too vicious enough to be the d**n straw that breaks the camel’s back. The bible is another concocted story taken from the pretex of ancient civilizations that have many of the same stories tht predate it found in Buddah, and even further back in ancient Egypt. Oh My People!!! Please learn history and make comparable judgments based on authentic documentation. When our ancestors were handed the bible, it had gone through many translations – the King James version is just that…the KING JAMES VERSION! This wa already in affect long before our shackled ancestors were made to endure slavery as economic prisoners. The bible was handed down to us by slavemasters. When you say, Amen at the end of your prayers, you are giving ode to the name of an ancient Egyptian god that the Greeks, upon learning of his attributes attached his name to the end of their prayers…that is why we say AMEN today. Now, in the case of these evil preachers, call a spade a spade. How many more violent offenses do we need coming out of the Black church. Sadly, these Preachers have learned to be as cunning and manipulative toward their congregations as the common criminal in the street!!! SIN is SIN and not always forgiveable. The law is the law and punishable according to the act and cannot be forgiven; these cunning preachers cross the line and commit shocking and news breaking offenses such as strangling their wive’s, stealing loads of money, punching daughters with their fist, and sexually abusing boys for years and years and years and YOU FORGIVE THEM? YOU BAIL THEM OUT? Oh yes…FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO? They know exactly what they do and if they don’t get them some therapuetic help but they can’t have leadership; they are disqualified. This type of person is calculating of their followers and they know that the BIBLE has dumbed many down into belief system to sustain acceptance for business as usual. This has become the fate of the Black church as a result of not using your god given thinking capacity, applying critical judgement, using common sense, and taking a serious stand on what is moral judgment; the by product is FORGIVING and falling back asleep! I would like to say that the devil is everywhere and is attacking and moving very swiftly around and through us and the atomosphere.The bible says satan will and has appeared in the house of the Lord because many people read what they like and void what they don’t everyone is shock by the news. ( Man eats mans face, soldier shoot himself and other military personel, mother leaves children naked on the street corner and they find her body in the woods dead, and the stories go on and on.) The adversary is here and real and it is very very hard to protect yourself without constant prayer and repentence. Children of God must admit their sins to God and confess it wherever so the devil does not get a stronghold! Okay black, green, or purple whatever faith this is the only weapon his word and his holy spirit. The enemy took over his body and how glad he was to get in it has absolutely nothing to do with anything more than that and the rest is history. Jezebel spirit has no gender it’s a demonic one that attacks people in high places and position it takes down kingdom in one swap but God builds tares down, blows out, rearranges and is still in the delivering business.
We must continue to read to show ourselves approved by God so that when the enemy shows up we don’t just let him walk by. Now understand satan behaviors and attitudes and you won’t be bewitched by anything even if you fall into his trap you will rise again, No man is not the subject of the devil.

It does not prove it is a tale, it proves that many people from many places around the world, who can’t seem to agree on anything, agree that there is a God, and that He came to Earth through a virgin.

This man’s mental/emotional state, the incident and it’s subsequent outcome has nothing to do with the existence of GOD or this fellow’s connect to GOD.
Wearing the title Reverend might be a clue since it’s only mention in the entire book is in Psalm 111. HOLY AND REVEREND IS HIS NAME.

The White man dominated India, until Ghandi stepped up and fought and gave his life for his country. Ghandi, by the way, believed in Jesus.

I mentioned India because for the most part they are Hindus and other religions, and not Christians, and in the past few decades, I have seen no indication that Indian people distrust White people.

He is in need of quick mental health intervention to deal with his anger and his family problems. Obviously his wife provoked him in some way or his hands would not have been wrapped around her little “not so innocent neck”. Preacher’s wives are notorious animals as well. They watch the collection plates as closely as their husbands. Most are fashion divas; wearing the best, smirking at their own congregants for wearing knock offs. They are not pure sweetness as folks want to assign. Black folks need leadership, desire support and the only place they seem to look for it is in the black church. The church has changed. It is a corporate entity now. Ask for help and they send you to big brothers or push you off on some other community agency. Whites are not all bad or all good. Most have been socialized that they are better than any other race on the planet. They believe their skin is superior in quality and hue. They are essentially sick. We as blacks simply cannot understand that mentality because we were socialized in the opposite manner; that our skin was inferiority and that brown is of lesser quality in hue and dynamics. I refuse to give anyone the satisfaction of yielding to such idiocy. That does not negate the word of God for your own soul salvation. Read whatever version of the bible you want; JUST READ IT!!
I think the Pastor’s 1st step should be STOP DRINKING Alcohol and start drinking more of the REAL JESUS JUICE: obviously the man can’t handle his liquour. Then he needs to step down and let a REAL Pastor take over while he combats his demons. As far as I am concerned another Pimp in the Pulpit. Finally, he needs GOD’S forgiveness and guideness and overtime prayer and fasting. If all else fells, then he needs an extorcism to rid himself of those demons. Some battles only GOD can fight and Win.
Whether you agree or not, the God of the Muslims and Jews is the same. Both were descendants of Abraham, and he worshipped a living God that is still alive and in control. The Bible say that you love your enemies as thyself and Jesus himself said “Render to Ceasar what is his” emphasizing that all people should follow the government(s) they are subject to in honor of Him that created it. I can’t quote the verse chapter and verse, however, I have seen them. Love is the key and justice is the door. We should pray for him, but allow the authorities to apply the punishment that should be given. He is a pastor and a “Christian” so he is accountable to a higher standard whether human or not. I agree with most of the posts, even the stupid one on principle.
But really we should try to be more understanding of the plight of the poor woman who endured this abuse. Her husband has a problem that requires more than a cursory study of the Bible, “faith without works is dead”. Obviously, he needs a resurrection of his true faith in the words and example of Jesus Christ.
Moreover, I am appalled by his behavior. Just because the woman wasn’t listening to him didn’t give the right or excuse to abuse her. The New Testament give ample verses about treating your wife, and what is expected of the leaders in the church. I think he should study them a few times more and open his heart and mind to the Holy Spirit. Now tht is enough Biblical philosophy from me. I think religion and relationship has been blurred that we tend to forget which is which. I feel that relationship with God is much more important than a religion. One does not necessary coincide with the other.
I agree we should love him, but not love his behavior. He should be forgiven and locked up like the animal he behaving like.

As my pastor just taught today, one’s first marriage, from the pulpit to the pew, IS TO CHRIST! Until we resolve in our minds that is who we go through, there will be problems in any marriage, even for preachers. If we follow in him, we can avoid these pitfalls.
Sure he is a man, we KNOW he is God’s child, but it is apparent that the Devil has interceded. No man should ever lay hands on a woman and especially a wife. This man’s lack of ability to communicate without his hand is an illustration of a man with a mental defect, he should plea this in court, as oppose to trying to get his wife, the mother of his children to listen to him. The anger in this man, is on his shoulders, he is explosive, and must do something about his psychological breakdown, I pray for him and the members of his church moreso, he is not a leader. This is not the first time he has struck out at the wife.

Black Blue Dog, your stories are not always complete, with many of the facts of any given news story always left out, such as where, when, who (names), why, etc. Is this story about Hamilton County in Tennessee? And in which city? And in the story about the young woman who left her kids in the care while she went looking for God, you left out all kind of information, including where Elmore County and the Coosa River, which I had to look up, and believe you are talking about Alabama. Is that right? And from which city was she from, and what church did she attend, and the pastor’s name? You all need to do your work, before putting these stories on here, with only half of the info. The Brother needs to 1. resign from the church. 2. seek professional help. 3. ask to be forgiven by all. 4. leave the ministry. 5. seperate from his family until he has “self-control” one of the fruit of the spirit mentioned in the bible he supposedly preaches. 4. move on with his life.
I think the issue of domestic violence is not taken as seriously as it should be in the Black community. There is still this ‘air’ of secrecy where what goes on in the home stays in the home.
I also know from experience that more pastor’s wives are dealing with domestic abuse than we care to know. Here there is this belief that wives are subservient to the husbands and he is her ‘head’. Although this order is biblical, it is often used as a means to keep a woman in her place.
I can almost guarantee that this pastor’s wife is not dealing with his anger in this way for the first time.
There needs to be more domestic violence intervention services and education in the Black community, starting within the church.
