Harlem School Teacher Arrested for Molesting 8-Year Old Girl

A third grade teacher was arraigned this week for allegedly molesting an 8-year old student at an elementary school in Harlem, according to officials.  The girl is telling police that 29-year old Raphael Sosa kissed her on the lips while putting his fingers into her private parts, according to law enforcement.

Prosecutors are alleging that the abuse occurred over a six-month period and ended last week inside a PS 208 classroom.  Prosecutors say that Sosa groomed the girl’s entire family, became friends with her mother and bought an iPad, Nintendo game and sneakers for the girl.  He also bought items for the girl’s older brothers.

Sosa is married and the father of a 5-year old.  He pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of s****l conduct against a child and s****l abuse.  He is also being charged with a misdemeanor count of acting in a manner to injure a child under 17.   He is being held on $75,000 bail.

“The defendant instructed the child to log in to the defendant’s Gmail account and send him emails stating in substance: I LOVE YOU, I MISS YOU. MY HEART BELONGS TO YOU,” the complaint states.

Sosa’s defense attorney, Virginia LoPreta says that Sosa is going to defend himself vigorously and that the evidence was circumstantial.

“I did not hear any corroboration of anything other than a relationship” – with the family, she said.

School officials say that Sosa has never been charged with misconduct in the past.

  1. my husband and i found ourselves in a debut about what to do with ppl that do that stuff to kids: he says to nail his b***s to the floor, set the room on fire, and give him a butter knife. i think we should just give him to the family. any other great ideas out there?

  2. What can we really do? I think we should pray for the poor little children affected and and steep the assailants in acid.

I think they should put him in jail…let the inmates know what he did and then let them all put their hands on his private parts.

  4. It’s a sad story, but rush to judgement.

  5. A person is innocent until proven guilty but there’s so much of this sort of thing going on. If he’s indeed guilty of this he should be put in the prison population and see what it feels like to have someone touch is privates. And he’ll be in a all male prison!!!

  6. Corrections It’s a sad story,but do not rush to judgement,That’s what I mean.

  7. Some one WAS probably touchin his private parts as a kid and no one helped him, and no one got his a*s counseling. Its weird, when its children we care and have anger…. Its horrible but not unforgivable. And I say that as someone who has forgiven my attackers.
I was raped for a year when I was 8 by a thirteen yr old neighbor. And raped by two grown men as an adult. As an adult it occurs to me, People like them need help and the sooner the better. People who are able to brutally hurt and manipulate others have been severely hurt and manipulated too. I got myself help. I educated myself and therefore dont have guilt and worked through my issues, and I do not manipulated or hurt people.

These people haven’t gotten help and worked through these issues/feelings. Most of us have not. We need to start having classes in school, like mandatory s*x ed about not violating each other and what to do if you notice signs of abuse. Also, don’t trust anyone with gifts apparently. You don’t get nothing for free…….

is his wi wi soooooo small that he can’t do women his age. KILL him he doesn’t deserve to live on this earthhere

  9. I think we should find out what really happened, because there is no physical evidence, just a statement. He is wrong for showering the child with all of the gifts, but her PARENTS should not have allowed the girl to accept them, so I am left to wonder, what the parents may have asked for, or even the older brothers, and did not get. I do think he was no doubt grooming the girl, but I do not think he did anything to her yet…….It used to be, that a defendant would not go to trial, because they were extorted into taking a plea, to spare the victim, but as we a re learning, many of these accusations are not true….I bet they will drop the charges, if they are forced to trial, because at 8, the child will not be able to hide, and if she can’t testify, they have no other evidence……
