Ed Gordon, Dr. Boyce Watkins, Glenda Hatchett Offer a New Radio Show
Ed Gordon is back on the radio with a new two-hour weekly broadcast. The show is called “Weekend with Ed Gordon” and airs on WMXD FM in Detroit on Sundays from 12 – 2 pm and on WHUR FM in DC on Saturdays from 7 – 9 am. Dr. Boyce Watkins from Your Black World is also going to be part of the show, along with comedian Joe Torry, Judge Glenda Hatchett and Judge Lynn Toler.

As is the case with anything worth doing, you have to have a game plan. Here’s how it’s going to go down:
- Star Story will give an inside look at the careers and lives of some of the biggest names in music while “That’s My Jam” will have celebrities and newsmakers talk about the song they couldn’t stop rewinding back in the day.
- Judge Lynn Toler of “Divorce Court will give relationship advise while “Legal Letters with Judge Hatchett” will feature Judge Glenda Hatchett fielding legal questions from listeners. Sounds like this show is “down by law” already!
- Meanwhile “Hot Topics with Boyce Watkins” will feature the famed social blogger as he takes on the week’s hot topics.
- Joe Torry will be bringing his unique comedy to the fore as he looks at headlines and news from around the world.

i prefer to listen to fox news if i need to hear hateful attacks towards the president!
I’m glad to hear the return of Ed Gordon and also can’t wait to hear Boyce’s commentary. We need some additional voices. Unlike many, I’m not all the satisfied with what we have at the present.

we have plenty of voices in black media. i think you meant to say you need some additional critical, jealous and hateful voices.
not a lot of those, but boyce, tavis and west are the leading experts in this area.

NO NEED FOR BOYCE
I will certainly tune in, especially to hear Dr. Boyce who bring a much needed perspective and truth to the table. Dr. Boyce has also been assessible to issues affecting non-celebs highlighting them when other high profile voices can’t be bothered unless the issue has already gotten media attention. It’s too bad some have plugged ears towards the truth. I guess when Blacks are back in chains on the physical plantation (bcuz many are still there mentally) which is where we are headed if Obama don’t get a clue, then they will want to hear Boyce, becuz the President will continue to ignore them like he does now, while he’s busy being the Prez for all others.
Boyce’s article about Bill Maher was a masterpiece. It should be enshrined.

Mr Brooks! As in America, the State of Israel also has a wide political spectrum among its people – so let’s not crucify millions for the faults of its current gov’t. The “racism situation” you are referring to is no different than the conservative rant and vitriol against hispanic immigrants and the millions of descendants of black migrants from the early and mid-20th century who now waste away in former northern industrial centers (Detroit, Madison, Toledo, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cleveland) only to be IGNORED by politicians (but not when it comes to voting — we see the onslaught against voting rights in conservative controlled states!) and the business community as they seek to build new enclaves of economic power away from working class blacks.
The good Dr Boyce Watkins doesn’t seem (or want) to address the systemic, continuous, and deliberate economic marginalization of minorities. Even as minority numbers grow, the wealth in this country continues to be concentrated for political and economic control (ex: In Mich there are 11 venture capitalist reside in Ann Arbor focused on the Univ of Mich, while only 2 exist in Detroit – 30 miles away//light years in terms of spatial separation!! — and we wonder why blacks continue to suffer in Motown!!)
It’s unfortunate that separate but equal appears to be the only real method to grow black prosperity, but even that doesn’t work in today’s environment as whites continue to seek spatial separation — separate but equal requires “social interaction”. And even if separate but equal were to emerge as a economic philosophy, our black enclaves would only be destroyed as was the Black Wall Street of Tulsa, OK (Memorial Day – 1921) was.
Our political process and prosperity in the United States is being held hostage by a new wave of Southern politicians who control the Republican party. Their power is evident every day as we witness in the news media the political polarization which paralizes the American Congress….
Ask the good Dr Watkins to comment on that reality!!!
I do not know that much about Ed Gordon, but I am shocked that Glenda Hatchett would be on a show featuring Dr. Boyce Watkins. She is definitely lowering her standards!
Sad to say, but in my view, Dr. Watkins is misguided and definitely in the pockets of the big money tycoons during this election cycle. He appears to say anything against the President to make sure his $$$’s keep flowing in. The old adage, ‘money corrupts’ is definitely true of Dr. Boyce who at one time offered sensible critiques of issues facing African Americans! His nonsense now is sad, sad, sad!
His timing for all of his criticism is definitely off and although it is intended to confuse the African American community, it is not! No one is giving the President a free pass, however, we know that timing is everything! There is no way that African Americans will be better off with Romney and the Republicans!
I hope that Judge Hatchett would reconsider her decision and not diminish her reputation by appearing anywhere near Boyce Watkins! She should have her own show!
Evidently many blacks are not aware of what is going on Israel, even though forem president Jimmy Carter is, who calls it worst that South Africa years back, and so is South Africa, who are boycotting some of the products made in Israel. And there are numerous groups in the USA, in California (where I use to live), and other places that are calling for a boucott and sanctions on all of those ANTI-JESUS JEWS over in Israel, which I am sure you all are not even aware of. Because the American media, which is dominated by Jews, will not even allow any news on any of this media (including black media) that talks against Israel, AND AMERICAN JEWS. So the racism there did not just start, it has been going on since Palestine was taken away and makde to be Israel. Althogu, according to the Jews religion they are not supposed to have their homeland UNTIL THEIR MESSIAH (not Jesus) shows up and leads them into it. But, eveidently they couldn’t wait, or don’t believe in their own religous lies. So as for this new thing with Ed Gordon, Glenda Hatchett and Brother Boyce, it ain’t gonna take place unless they cowtow to what the Jews want them to do and say. If Boyce, is included in any program, I will not watch, or listen to it. This b*****d, is incompetent, and a sellout. He is being paid by the republican tea baggers, to compress the black vote, and to keep us from voting for President Obama. Would Syracuse university, have hired Boyce, if he looked like Wesley Snipes? Sounds like a bigot, right? Well, this is the same thing as asking “Would America have voted for Obama, if he looked like Wesley Snipes? Wesley Snipes, is a black man, and there is nothing wrong with the way he looks. To suggest that his looks are detrimental, is demeaning and racist, but this is exactly what Boyce (The Jackass) asked in one of his stupid commentaries. Boyce, got his job at Syracuse, because he didn’t look like a black man.
